There she is, Hourglass, all finished and blocking happily on my floor (clicking on this picture, or any of the other pictures on this blog for that matter, will take you to a bigger one). Once it is dry I'll post a picture of me wearing it, but for now I just couldn't wait, it has been so long since I have finished a sweater. I also have to say that I love blocking. It makes me feel like such a big girl. Anyway here are the specs...
Pattern: Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Brown Sheep, Lambs Pride Superwash in Peacock
Alterations: I added an inch to the sleeve length (which is pretty good, I've knit a couple sweaters that I've had to add 3 inches to make the sleeves long enough), I also knit the hemmed edges of the bottom and sleeves in, rather than sewing them up later.
I really liked knitting this sweater. It was good t.v. watching knitting, I was even able to read while I knit, and it knit up fast enough that I didn't get bored of all the stockinette stitch. That said it is time to knit some lace. I ordered this scarf pattern today, along with assorted other goodies, since I couldn't decide between Branching Out and the Lucy's Diamond scarves. I think it is because I really wanted to knit one of these ones (I've had my eye on this pattern for a while). In the mean time I'm going to knit some socks. Elfine's socks to be exact.
